Beautiful scenery, prolific game viewing, Big Five, abundant birdlife
Woodland and lagoon combine to make Moremi Game Reserve one of the world's most beautiful game viewing areas, with prolific wildlife drawn by the annual flooding of the Okavango Delta in the dry season. The area was a Bushman hunting ground dating back 10,000 years.
The reserve has a wide range of habitats supporting rich plant and bird life with plentiful waterbirds and raptors around the wide open spaces of the Khwai floodplains and less easily seen species in the giant mopane trees of the central wooded areas.
Numerous elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and jackal are accompanied by a wide mix of antelope including the water loving red lechwe. Regular sightings include wild dog with one of Africa's largest populations.
White rhino have been re-introduced to Chief''s Island giving excellent chances of seeing all of the Big Five. This area has probably the best game viewing in the delta . Adjacent waterways of the delta are explored by motorised boat or more traditionally by mokoro, poled along by your guide.
