The buttons on the right apply to the map as a whole
Lassoo – zooms the map to include all visible items
Show – make ALL items visible – this may clutter the map
Hide – removes all items from the maps
Ruler – provide a simple scale tool – the endpoints can be dragged to measure the distance of interest

Tree climbing lion, Kazinga cruises, giant forest hog and volcanic scenery

Queen Elizabeth

Wildlife of Queen Elizabeth national park includes elephant, leopard and chimpanzee. The area around Ishasha boasts tree-climbing lion - males having black manes.

The park connects Lake Edward and Lake George along the Kazinga Channel offering boat-based viewing of the many hippo and large waterbirds. Elephant, elusive giant forest hog and handsome but aggressive Uganda kob are regularly sighted on the Mweya Peninsula.

Features to the north include fine views of Ruwenzori's mountains of the moon, volcanic cones and deep craters, many with crater lakes such as Lake Katwe from which salt is extracted.

From open savannah to rainforest and dense papyrus swamps, QENP display some of the world's highest levels biodiversity. Around 100 mammal species and remarkable 600 bird species make this rewarding safari territory.
