Exclusive game viewing, bush camps, remote wilderness

Zambia public reserve

North Luangwa

North Luangwa national park is the much less visited neighbour of South Luangwa with which it shares the river, similar vegetation and wildlife. With far fewer camps, the park is able to offer true wilderness to visitors with numbers strictly controlled by limited operators - remote exclusivity.

The main game viewing areas are found around the Luangwa River and its Mwaleshi River tributary. Lions are plentiful and herds of buffalo reaching several thousand. Birdlife is once again terrific.

In keeping with the wilderness of the park, camps are bush-style - thatch and temporary, but very comfortable, with bed linen and en-suite.

Road access via Shiwa Ng'anda offers an alternative to fly-in for travellers wishing to see more of the country.
