It was some time before I was able to realise the vast extent and variety of the territory

Africa

Southern Africa

The fascination of its extraordinary wildlife is at the heart of many trips to Africa. From the first lion sighting, many are drawn into the wonder and variety of the wild and similarly delighted by the warm welcome of an unfamilar culture.

South Africa offers a great introduction to the safari with a 3-day Big Five adventure as part of a fuller itinerary. Witness great buffalo herds of Botswana, wallowing hippos of Zambia or rich wildlife in re-emerging Zimbabwe.

The earth is laid bare in much of Namibia as desert sands and geological trauma provide the scenic backdrop to a harsh dry world. Desert adapted elephants demonstrate the demands of survival in the most extreme conditions.

Beach relaxation is available right along the Cape coast, while Mozambique offers barefoot luxury and solitude on its many paradise islands. More surprisingly, Lake Malawi provides its own sandy getaways to balance your adventure.
