The buttons below the map hide/show locations by type – eg Accommodation, Airports, Reserves, Borders.

The buttons on the right apply to the map as a whole
Lassoo – zooms the map to include all visible items
Show – make ALL items visible – this may clutter the map
Hide – removes all items from the maps
Ruler – provide a simple scale tool – the endpoints can be dragged to measure the distance of interest

Zoom & pan – handled by the controls on the left or more directly by dragging and double-click
Streetview – drag the ‘person’ to the area of interest. Available views are highlighted in blue. Click ‘X’ top right to close Streetview

Southern Suburbs are the made up of the preferred residential areas located away from Cape Town city centre around Table Mountain to the east of the Cape Peninsula - Mowbray, Rondebosch, Newlands and Wynberg.

Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens are among the main attractions, world renowned for its impressive displays of solely indigenous Cape flora and rich birdlife that it supports. Natural forest and fynbos can be explored by marked trails.

Newlands is best known for the adjacent rugby and cricket grounds, home to local provincial sides and regular Test Matches. Both grounds have impressive views of Table Mountain.

Southern Suburbs are well placed for access to Cape Town, Cape Peninsula, Cape Winelands and day trips along the coast to Hermanus.
