The buttons below the map hide/show locations by type – eg Accommodation, Airports, Reserves, Borders.

The buttons on the right apply to the map as a whole
Lassoo – zooms the map to include all visible items
Show – make ALL items visible – this may clutter the map
Hide – removes all items from the maps
Ruler – provide a simple scale tool – the endpoints can be dragged to measure the distance of interest
Help – you are here!

Zoom & pan – handled by the controls on the left or more directly by dragging and double-click
Streetview – drag the ‘person’ to the area of interest. Available views are highlighted in blue. Click ‘X’ top right to close Streetview

Long sandy beaches, classic Table Mountain View, Century City, golf and wetlands

West Coast Cape Town

Cape Town's West Coast stretches north from the city with long sandy beaches looking out towards Robben Island and back south to the impressive sight of Table Mountain at the end of the Cape Peninsula range.

The beach at Bloubergstrand was the site of the Battle of Blouberg in 1806 when the British landing marked the start of their occupation of Cape Colony when the Dutch were defeated.

Century City is a recent development in Blue Mountain Blouberg set around the major mall at Canal Walk, with Ratanga Junction theme park and good accommodation options.

Golf is well represented with local courses with the flat links course at Milnerton and the contrasting Atlantic Beach golf estate set in indigeneous fynbos vegetation.
