The buttons below the map hide/show locations by type – eg Accommodation, Airports, Reserves, Borders.

The buttons on the right apply to the map as a whole
Lassoo – zooms the map to include all visible items
Show – make ALL items visible – this may clutter the map
Hide – removes all items from the maps
Ruler – provide a simple scale tool – the endpoints can be dragged to measure the distance of interest

Hiking and Basotho pony trekking in the Maluti Mountains, indigenous woodland, high biodiversity

Tsehlanyane

Tsehlanyane national park is located in the Maluti Mountains with easy access from South Africa along the scenic Hlotse River. Numerous paths are maintained for hiking and pony trekking through scenic rugged mountain terrain with diverse plant species across a wide range of altitudes.

Rare in Lesotho, indigenous woodland with some unique undergrowth plants is complemented by thicks clumps of Berg bamboo along river banks, rare mountain fynbos and over 200 species of wild flowers.

African wild cat, black-backed jackal, porcupine, caracal, grey rhebuck, baboon, striped pole cat, rock hyrax, ice rat and clawless otter can all be seen in the park. Birds include bearded vulture, Cape vulture, gorund woodpecker and orange-breasted rock jumper.
