Mombasa North Coast
Outside the island city centre, the main resorts of Mombasa lie along the 10 kilometres of North Coast beachside suburbs, east of the busy coast road.
A series of big resort hotels sit behind the sandy strip from Nyali Beach through Bamburi Beach to Shanzu Beach, farthest away.
Public access to beaches can lead to crowding over weekends.
