River side marshland, lion and leopard, dry season herds of elephant, wet season pelican, private concessions
Linyanti is a more remote and less visited swamp area of Chobe Park. It borders the river with papyrus lagoons, reeds and tall trees to give a feel much like the Okavango Delta. The marshy area sees sitatunga and red lechwe.
Wildlife is most concentrated when the dry season water shortages push herds of elephant, buffalo and zebra to the river. Giraffe and roan antelope are seen around the forested border. Flocks of pelican feature in the diverse birdlife of the area.
Heavy rains from January to March make access difficult while many of the larger mammals move out. Bird and plantlife is at its best in this period when non-migrating impala and reedbuck produce their young.
The area has been divided into Linyanti, Selinda and larger Kwando concessions to guarantee an exclusive game viewing experience with possible sightings of lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and wild dog.
