Mathew's Mountains
To the north of Samburu, the desert gives way to the mountains as the Mathew's range rises to peaks of more than 2200m. Equatorial mountain forest is managed by the Kenya Forestry with the local community to provide the ** Namunyak Wildlife ** conservancy that is massive in both area and bulk. The conservancy is dedicated to managed of the indigenous wildlife and forestry.
