Knysna
The small resort town makes an excellent base from which to explore the Garden Route. The various cafes, restaurants and bars in the town itself have recently been complemented by Knysna's own mini-Waterfront.As well as the various day trips into the surrounding forests, there are excellent excursions by steam train up to George and by boat over the lagoon which itself carries over 200 species of fish.
