There is a lovely road that runs from Ixopo into the hills. These hills are grass-covered and rolling and they are lovely beyond any singing of it.
Follow the highway out of Durban past Pietermaritzburg to reach the green, scenic forested hills of the Midlands which host some excellent lesser known golf courses as well as some excellent fishing anf hiking.The Midlands Meander is a tourist route that takes in a number of the highlighted areas with various local arts and crafts from furniture-making to weaving and spinning which provide a valuable local industry for Zulu women.
