Stunning mountain scenery, hot springs, vineyards and ostriches
Route 62 follows Breede River Valley along the dramatic mountain route to provide an interesting alternative to the coast road between Cape Town and Garden Route.
From Cape Winelands, the road travels through the long Huguenot Tunnel to emerge in impressive rugged scenery ahead of Worcester, the historical administrative centre.
Wineries and spas are mixed with stunning scenery and historical settlements as the road passes reaches the arid ostrich scrubland pastures of Little Karoo and feather palaces of Oudtshoorn.
Robertson reds and whites, Calitzdorp fortified wines and Montagu brandy production provide a full wine list by the end of the trip.
